Microneedling FAQs

What is Microneedling?
Microneedling allows for a controlled process of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen production. Microneedling is utilized to treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, minor trauma scars, and improving the skin’s overall appearance. This can result in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

How many sessions will I need?

Depending on the skin concern, several sessions might be necessary to achieve desired results. This can be discussed with your provider during your consultation. If multiple treatments are recommended sessions are typically spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

What can I expect post-treatment?

Redness, swelling, and minor bleeding can occur immediately after treatment. Redness and skin sensitivity can be similar to a mild sunburn which usually takes 3-5 days to fully resolve.  Following our recommended aftercare helps to ensure safe and effective results.

When will I begin to see results from my Microneedling treatment?

Generally, patients notice tightening and a more even tone to their skin in the week or two after treatment. For deeper imperfections results can be more subtle and may require subsequent treatments. Since microneedling stimulates new collagen and elastin therefore, results will continue to build for up to 6 months following treatment.

What areas can I treat with Microneedling?
Microneedling can essentially be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas to treat are the face, neck, and decollete.
